Research undertaken by STEM Learning has shown that 89% of STEM businesses have found it difficult to recruit staff with the required skills, leading to a shortfall of over 173,000 workers – this equates to an average of 10 unfilled roles per business.
Without the necessary skills, students may struggle to find employment and can also negatively impact the education system as a whole by creating a mismatch between the skills that students are learning and the skills that are needed in the workforce.
A learning space aims to combat an ever-increasing skills gap between disadvantaged young people & jobs within digital & STEAM industries. It can help close the skills gap in the UK by providing a dedicated inclusive environment for individuals to develop & enhance their STEM skills.

A full day of hands-on STEAM Education Sessions, consisting of a minimum of 4 different activity stations to cater for a group of approx. 15-20 participants at a time for a duration of approx. 45 minutes – 1 hour per session. Each group rotates to take part in all activities.
The event would be attended by a minimum of 4 Primary/Secondary schools within your network, with approx 10 students and 1 or 2 teachers attending from each school.
