Sphero’s RVR is a unique programmable robot- immediately drivable, includes a variety of sensors, and completely customizable. By connecting third-party hardware like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, BBC micro:bit, Raspberry Pi, or Sphero’s own littleBits, you can grow RVR’s potential even further. RVR is your blank slate on the go. Grow it, programme and hack the robot of your dreams- then take it anywhere.
You demanded for an infinitely programmable, all-terrain, highly expandable robot- well, here it is. Meet RVR, the robot inspired by hackers, learners, teachers and makers like you; but built by us.
Great for Learners
RVR is great to drive and simple to code. Open the Sphero Edu app to to drive RVR around and once you’re ready to start coding, the Sphero Edu app makes it easy and new: start out with Draw & Drive then try out Scratch Blocks.
A Mode for Makers
Want more? Sync RVR’s strong integrated sensors into your programming activities and coding schemes, then show them off to the world!
Driven and Dependable
An intense motor, all-terrain treads, and lots of torque gives you the option to drive RVR just about anywhere. RVR also includes a honed, expert-level control system that won’t be discouraged by blocks or bumpy surfaces.
Stuffed with Sensors
RVR’s integrated sensors include a colour sensor, light sensor, IR magnetometer, accelerometer, and gyroscope. Direct RVR through a colour maze or tape into IR to experience bot-to-bot dialogue.
3rd Party Hardware
WIth RVR’s 4-pin UART expansion port and integrated power, you can install and play 3rd party hardware like a Raspberry Pi, Arduino, micro:bit and Sphero’s littleBits, as well. Want RVR to become your home security guard, an independent metal detector or an geographical sensor you can control over the internet? If you can programme it, RVR can do it.
